Abstract: Since the moment of its creation in 1839 photography has gained quite controversial status. 19th century society couldn’t come to a consensus if it was a science tool to study the life or a new sort of art. However fancy Victorian photography greatly influenced by Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood gave photo-process high art status close to that of Renaissance painting. English lady Julia Margaret Cameron played one of the leading roles in declaration of photography to be an art. Her images reflect union of realism and poetry, of spirituality and beauty. Julia Margaret Cameron surpassed other Victorian photographers in lyricism and sensuality. All her works are true art works representing the result of artistic thoughts and attempt to show the perfect beauty.
