Abstract

The article describes the scheme and principles of application of the method of design synectics in various spheres of creative, artistic and cultural life. It denotes changes in structure and significance of the concept of an image of definite purpose, transforming the perceptions of significance and structure of a modern fashionable suit. The authors trace descriptions of the costume as primarily an emotional image containing sensual characteristics of perception of the form and its content. The paper looks at the concept of creativity as a basic unit in compilation of a sensual artistic image and a basis for perception of the form of created object and introduces the algorithm of designer`s creative activity, including three levels, differing in the degree of viability and depth of creative direction. The synectical method as a basis for artistic design of a modern costume is considered taking into account all the complexity and comprehensiveness of the issue. The paper attests to the importance of influence of the idea on costume` designs and highlights main stages of the concept`s development. It also introduces the concept of brainstorming as a main driving force in shaping the conception of collection-building or creating individual units of a costume. The authors draw attention to the importance of applying and creating a source of inspiration when working on a figurative solution and stress the significance of the author’s psychological component in terms of the search for a conceptual solution reflecting his personal perceptions and attitudes towards structure of the object being created. The paper concludes with displaying main characteristics of the synectic method and findings confirming its relevance and applicability in various areas of the modern world.
