Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of the study of folklore trends in contemporary violin art and substantiates the importance of preserving ethno-regional traditions in the musical art and culture of the 21th century. It also involves determining of the stylistic features of interpretations of folk music created by popular foreign violinists S. Kroytor (Israel), L. Shankar (India), M. Вuddy (Canada), V. Popadyuk (Ukraine), V. Clements (USA) and summarizing the distinctive features of individual styles of musicians. The demand for individual performers and musical groups, preserving and developing the traditions of folk art, is due to the fact that ethnic music is quite resistant to ideological influences. It is an effective means of national identification, harmonization of human relations with the natural world and society. The rich heritage of colorful, original folklore gives boundless opportunities for performers to open up creatively. The papers demonstrates that the advantage of the author's arrangements of folk music in the culture of the 21th century is that they`re contributing to the preservation of the national basis of art, attract mass audience to the folk music.
