Abstract

The present study explores the structure of combinatorial method and examines its impact on the design of costumes and products from lace fabric. It provides a brief description of structural components of the combinatorial method with the justification of their mutual conjugation in the design process of a costume from lace fabric. The paper also pays attention to the impact of various groups of ornaments on human psycho-emotional perception. Therefore author’s ornamental motif for the lace element-module is developed in accordance with the data on psycho-emotional perception of a person. The synthesis of techniques carried out according to the developed classification of the combinatorial method, allowed producing experimental sketches of costumes from author's lace elements-modules with a detailed description of design techniques applied in costumes, which exemplified the adaptation of the combinatorial method.
