The paper is aimed at the study of Russian culture`s transformations in terms of the actualization of Orthodox dominants in the period of developing globalization paradigm of the modern world at the turn of the 21st centuries. The author explores topic`s methodological aspect, drawing upon the work of inter-and trans-disciplinary theorists in science, — V. А. Bazhanova, V. G. Budanova, L. P. Kiyaschenko, A. P. Ogurtsova, V. N. Porus, R. V. Scholz et al., and suggesting to perceive culture as a holistic system of being, where archetypes, signs and images are its integral parts. As such a system implies, various humanities do not simply complement each other, but form a single set of tools and methods for solving scientific problems beyond any single scientific discipline`s power. The author focuses on the imperatives of Russian culture, rooted in the Orthodox worldview. Their actualization took place at the turn of the 21st century in the process of establishing foundations of collective identity. Confessional bases of power manifestations as an indicator of civilizational specifics of Russia are analyzed within the context of state-church interaction. The study concludes that Orthodox dominants are the archetypical foundations of Russian culture, which find their expression in corresponding signs and images, both at the institutional and personal level of being.
