The study deals with the analysis of structural, semantic and functional features of national and poetic appositive combinations in the poem- fairytale by M. Tsvetaeva “The Swain” (“Molodets”). The relevance of the subject is stemming from the fact that often only author`s knowledge of folklore bases and mechanisms of their assimilation allows us to understand true sense of his/her works. Writers and poets used to address folklore texts because the interaction of folklore (as a stronghold of folk wisdom) and fiction (as a means of preservation and transferring of the experience, accumulated by generations, to descendants) has always been fruitful. The paper provides classification of appositive combinations basing on the lexical-semantic principle; the main functions of appositive combinations depending on the type are identified. The author comes to the conclusion that M. Tsvetaeva has created author's appositive combinations relying on the existing folklore models that enabled her to stay within the tradition, yet at the same time to enhance emotionality and semantic capacity of her works.
