Abstract

The revolutionary events in Russian history substantially transformed Petropol, changed his character, his genius loci. Konstantin Vaginov, like many of his contemporaries, witnessed the metamorphosis Petersburg and tried to describe it. For him, the city represented a single living organism, affected by “unknown disease”. Under conditions of formation of a new way of life the writer tried to figure out what will “a revolutionary vaccine” bring to his beloved city.
