Abstract: The word combination Orthodox Poland sounds like nonsense. Research into Saints Cyril and Methodius’ (Apostles of the Slavs) contribution to the culture and history of Poland is, however, casting a new light on the above phenomenon. Belostok, the orthodox capital of Poland, is currently considered to be a research centre studying Orthodoxy. In recent years, scientists have tracked down an increased number of traces of missionary work done by Saints Cyril and Methodius’ disciples mainly in the southeast of Poland. There is the growing number of evidences that Polish authorities used to actively keep in touch with Slavia Orthodox group. The impact of Orthodoxy tradition in Poland is revealed in archeological artefacts and ancient writings such as chronicles and church poetry. Despite of having suffered irreparable damage from the 1596 Union of Brest, Polish Orthodoxy nowadays embraces both scientists and eminent personalities in the field of culture and education as well as remarkable high priests who inspire the Slav tradition. Today’s orthodox Christians in Poland don’t suffer dual ideology (in other words, they have an integral outlook on the world), which is typical of the Poles with regard to Poland’s special geopolitics, and live out their lives on ancient orthodoxy ethos.
