Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the history of Eastern Christian canon of art in Russia in the second half of XIX–XX centuries. It discusses the importance of activi- ties of Archimandrite Porfiry (Uspensky), F. I. Buslaeva, N. P. Kondakov, V. Aynalova, N. P. Likhachev, A. Grabar, as well as theological and philosophical tradition of learn- ing the art of the Christian East (activities of S. Bulgakov, P. Florensky, N. Berdyaev, V. Ivanov), the concepts of A. F. Losev and V. V. Bychkov.
