Abstract: This article is connected with the study of the universal mythological motive «the sun in the branches of the world tree» on the basis of Tver folk material. The work is based on the folk-ethnographic evidences that were received by the author during the expeditions of many years’ standing to Tver region. Furthermore, the patterns of Tver folklore from the reserves of SASC and home museums are analyzed, as well as the publications about Tver rituals from different recent sources.
