The paper analyzes the complex of lexical formulas common to a number of old Russian literary works of the late XII–XIII cc., An adequate understanding of them is only possible in the context of reflections about the nature of the prophetic gift, known from the text of «Tales of Christ and Antichrist» by St. Hippolytus of Rome in the old Russian translation of the XII century. |
