Abstract: The author turns to urgent and important issues - the study of the philosophical views of Russian writers of the second third of the XIX century on the technical civilization and the investigation of methods of its artistic recreation. Using particular materials (works by F. Glinka, W. Benediktov, P. Vyazemsky, M. Dmitriev, J. Polonsky, E. Boratynsky, V. Odoevsky) the paper makes an attempt to address practical issues and important theoretical problems: the identification and foundation of persistent images and motives in the literature of this period, the correlation with the subsequent literary tradition, the principles of manifestation of the authors position, the interelation of the image and reality.
