Abstract: Fr. Dvornik has paid attention to the citation from The Life of Eustathius Placidas (LE) in The Life of Constantine-Cyril (LC). It would seem that the citation testifies that LC was known to the author of LC which, hence, has been created before 880-882 (the time of creation of LC). However the hand-written data collected by us show that the cita- tion from LC, most likely, is direct translation from Greek, hence, slavic translation of VE has been created later than VC.
