What substance did Slavs themselves put in the concept «Slovene» in the Middle Ages? What was the formative principle for this concept? Is «Slovene» an original name for early Slavs? These questions are examined in the paper by Gurchenko L. A. It is a supplementary reasoning for one of existing etymologies of ethnic name «Slovene» from slovo, which can be disputable, but nevertheless probable and convincing. |
