- Abstract: This study is a characteristic of the spiritual experience of the twentieth‑cen‑ tury Orthodox thinker Sergei Iosifovich Fudel based on the analysis of his letters. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that it may contribute to understanding the essence of religious worldview in the postsecular world which seems important for the consoli‑ dation of modern Russian society based on traditional values. The purpose of the paper is to understand the worldview of S.I. Fudel in the context of Russian culture of the Sil‑ ver Age and religious philosophy of the 19th – 20th centuries. The materials of the study include the letters and works of S.I. Fudel, the memoirs of his children and friends, as well as the works of researchers devoted to the analysis of his work. The authors used following methods: ideographic, comparative historical, qualitative analysis of docu‑ ments, conceptual analysis. The results of the study are the following provisions: the worldview of S.I. Fudel continues the Slavophile cultural tradition. The spiritual expe‑ rience of the thinker consists in the statement of the reality of the presence of God in human life and the consideration of temporary earthly life in the perspective of eternity. S.I. Fudel teaches love for God, life and people, spiritual joy, fortitude in overcoming life's adversities, inner freedom from sin and evil under any external circumstances. The originality of the authors approach involves the analysis of S.I. Fudel's letters as evi‑ dence of his spiritual experience, as well as in the assertion of the relevance of turning to the legacy of this thinker.
